ControllerThe left stick steers, the right trigger or the south button accelerates, the left trigger brakes, the west button drifts, the east button fires the nitro and the select button changes the view.
TouchHold the left half to steer, the right half to accelerate; nitro and the handbrake are buttons under your thumbs, and the eye at the top changes the view.

No. A crash at speed ends the drive, and the result shows the distance in kilometres, the top speed in kilometres an hour and the score. Near misses are how you earn the nitro that keeps you ahead.
What does the police do?
Once the score is high enough a patrol car joins the traffic behind you. It is faster than you on a straight and slower through a drift, and a distance in metres shows how far ahead you are.
Are other drivers real?
The world map is shared: the road everyone is on rolls to a new one on a schedule, and drivers on the same road see each other as lights in the traffic. Nobody can touch your car.
